God has a purpose for you and me, perhaps it's this very message. To find purpose you have to get up and move! Either by using your computer to write or study or create art or by getting out and seeing the world around you, take a walk and take joy in all the life around you and the fact that being alive is an opportunity to find joy for yourself and others by sharing, working, giving, once we are dead you have no more opportunity to have done the best you could to contribute something positive to this life. You know what?--- You can not intelligently look around at this world and think on the word of God and not realize this life is very very short, the Cosmos are very very huge and we don't understand half of the existence of things right here on the earth itself! We just learned there is an Ocean the size of the Antarctic at least, under Beijing China, partially why it is the most Earthquake prevalent area! Do you know that in Job in the Bible God speaks of the "Oceans" under the earth and over the earth, the vast blackness of the 2nd heavens the storehouse of hail the making of dew, about dinosaurs etc. God has been telling us these truths that non believers like to say is nonsense until--- another scientific proof proves the Word of God once again! The more science reveals the more truth of Gods word is proven before them!! Oh yeah, there is purpose in our lives! Get to it!!

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable

Sometime I get stuck in deep thoughts and think about that. But I don't think that if I didn't have a purpose I should just die. Most of the time I don't have a purpose but I just keep on living life.

That is depressed thinking. You should get some counseling.
I naturally wonder daily as I am facing a crisis of urgency. It is natural at my age, since I will be 50 in less than two weeks. I'm not dealing with it very well. Textbook knowledge helps, but it is more serious an emotional problem than I bargained for or would have ever believed before I got here.
I know the meaning of life is to glorify God and I take comfort in that, but the aging thing (though a tremendous blessing) is still getting me down a bit.

The purpose (my opinion of course) is you come on earth to die. When you die is another part of science that extends your purpose. Just dying right now would not help you. Every animal will eventually die. its just a matter of time. If I die when Im 100 I might say to myself im 100 days old or if you died when you are 25 you might say im 250 years old. If you dont make up your own mind about your existance I wouldnt worry. Im no older or younger than you. I will see you when I see you. Thats it. Live worry free. My life is yours. Do with me as if I was your parent. Be seeing you.

All the time. Many people wonder why they are here. Most of us are here to learn and to try and be a better person.
If you ask yourself seriously and then ask for some sort of 'sign' for what your purpose of being here is, you will get one. Maybe not the same day but very soon. Just be careful what you asked for, I was depressed because of no real job, no real money, felt like I was running around in a circle, and I asked seriously what my purpose in life was, and I accidentally got pregnant. So be VERY careful what you ask for. You may get it.

I must ask myself what is my purpose here on this earth at least 5 times a week. I think death is not the answer. It's an easy way out, but you will only hurt the people who love you and they will ask the same question. It's an endless cycle.

I do, and my purpose? to ask the nazzis why are they so famous? hehehe
seriously though,
I have thought about my existence and my purpose for being here. And i think I know why, because me, brought here to life, brought my parents to life and happiness! Because God wants them to be happy through us, the children. We have reasons to be here which we might not have known yet. Like Jesus Christ, at the end he sacrificed himself to save us from our sins.
I know that later in life, I will know the purpose of my existence and won't regret it nor ask Him why.

We are all caretakers of the world. Yes, I have pondered this question many times over. I can only speculate what that purpose is, though.
