That is an age old question. You have to discover that for yourself. You must discover what your passion is. That is something everyone has, it is some times unknown to you.
Just remember this, you spend a good share of your life at work. You spend more time at your job than any where else. You need to love your job and skip to work every day. That doesn't mean you are a workaholic.
Give yourself some time but just be aware. If the job is not right for you, find another one and move on. Don't settle for less than your passion. You are still young enough to grab that gold ring.

Dear Amanda
First find out what makes you happy. Search for ways to incorporate that into your studies. This may not give you an immediate clue but keep looking and keep trying. I am sure you have asked this question at a fairly early age, and would hit the right answer in the right time. Think before you leap. Think hard. If need be leapack. Start again. Chase your happiness. Best of Luck. Shant

Choose a few things you might like, look around for volunteer jobs in those areas. You will get hands on experience and will know if something isn't right for you. If you are in college or intending to go volunteer hours are good on applications.
Make a list of things you like.... animals for instance, then make a sub list of jobs involving animals. Vet tech, pet store, animal shelter, dog walker, pet sitting, leave room under each then write down places where you can check for jobs or volunteer work in that field.
If you are in high school see what type of magnet programs are offered in your district. If you are ready to leave high school talk to your guidance counselor, they can steer you somewhere. Go to your public library, look at your local papers there, you don't have to buy them that way. If you read everything you can about your interests in local papers you will figure out which one interests you the most.
Don't set things in stone, you can change your mind. My daughter is at a university for a degree in Crime Scene Technology, she has 2 associates degrees already for this major. She has been working at Walgreen's since she started at her Jr College. Well she was home on spring break and told me she is thinking of staying on with Walgreen's as a loss prevention supervisor. Requires a four year degree in Criminal justice, same field different line of work. I told her whatever makes her happy.
Hope this helps, good luck with your search.
