describe what would happen if a person was at the base of it when it was erupting. use sensory details so we can feel it, smell it, see everything happening from the beginning smoke and tremors to lava flows.

Maybe you could ask your teacher to let you use the black-board to do some illistrations.
Or you can make some to prepare them.
You really need diagrams of that kind of thing.
