When I take the family on vacation, we become different people. Happy, excited. On an adventure. We develop deep memories afterwards that we remember for years and years.

Hi. The most important journey I have been on is the journey through time, from my earliest memories until writing this answer.

Yes, it was the first time I'd ever travelled on a plane and cross country, at that.

I went to Southern California. I am from Eastern Kentucky. I was struck by how different my life would have been, had I grown up in another place. I mean, basically, a great deal of what your life turns out to be can be dependent on geography.

Obviously, there are huge differences in the place I grew up, and in So Cal. ... ie Economic, Cultural, etc.

I do realize, though.....that, ultimately, how your life turns out is up to you. And, the good Lord.

Just sharin' my thoughts.

I think every journey I have taken has changed me. If you try to be open minded and become aware of the differences in the people, culture, architecture, foods, climate, standards of living, etc., you will surely be changed and become more tolerant, and appreciate your own home more.

in the space of a few months my 17 year old son was diagnosed with cancer (proved to be a tumor involving a 3 month stay at Ronald McDonald House) and a lifelong patient of St. Jude's, my husband had a stroke, my mother had a leg amputated, i lost my job of 19 years, my aunt died, i went back to college and am starting a completely new field. Yeah, i'd say that changed my life.

I've been on mental journey, a bunch of dreams linked togther, and even with the real world. Its about an American girl doll, and it haunts me. One night, i saw it standing at my door in real life, and was afraid to move. It has scarred me. I lived in China for 3 years. That alone would change anyones life. And anyone who has lived overseas can vouch for that. Plus, also, I met my husband (who is from Congo), married him (the week of my wedding my father died) and got pregnant with my daughter . All of that while I was in China. Changed me forever.
