Get out of your comfort zone. Explore the world- interact with people you never thought you could approach. Get in their skin- what's it like being this person? Try thinking like them for a day- but don't become them.
What makes another person tick? Why do so many people think differently? Is it education, culture or innate personality traits? Watch people's everyday lives: what's it like being the postman, the housewife, the hot teenage attendent, the lonely nerd, the policeman sitting in his car, the politician with such strong, narrow-minded views? Don't only focus on their quirks, find their numbness- what makes them persist in that character? And most importantly, find out what makes each character unique, individual, and pained!

The best thing to do is practice. Try taking an acting class or join the drama club at your school.

You can act like you're good...
Or you can work hard and persevere and work up to the point of being a good actress.
Or you can just take my first suggestion, which is my preference.

Take acting lessons, audition as much as possible, perform in plays, etc. Practice, practice, practice.
