with reguards to clean up and smooth mud/tape flow , which brands have you found to be the best?

Just buy a bucket of mud made by a drywall manufactuer like US Gypsum. Soap and water cleanups are about all you need to do . Get a mud tray and a 6 inch knife and an 8-10 inch for finish work . There are corner knives that work well. Brand is up to you as the basic tools are pretty much the same. I use the sanding screens on a long block for finish work. and good dust masks. Have Fun

Dont forget your drywall tape, to put along the seams that you are mudding, dont put it on too thick just enough to cover the seam and tape and try to put it on smooth, the smoother it is the easier it will be to sand later... Have fun...
