Anyone have a partner or a spouse that is soo cheap, their butt squeaks. My hubby won`t buy me anything for valentine`s day, but he`ll buy himself "stuff " for his hobby car. I told him, I miss going out on dates and him treating me to little things, like perfume. But he told me he just took me out last weekend to his buddies....Hmm, his friend bought the drinks, and he said he was treating me..Why are men like this? They wonder why the don`t get it in bed...

I`m not artificial.....my hubby spends the money on himself. If I knew he was looking out for our retirement, I would be honoured and I wouldn`t be so upset.

I hear ya! My husband and I have been together 16 years. The ONLY jewelry he has ever bought me was my wedding ring. I mean, I have diamond earrings, other rings, bracelets and stuff, but I initiated the purchase. He was with me, but I'm the one that went in the store and said "im going to buy this". He hasn't bought me flowers in over 4 years. Once in awhile I will get a card, but not often. His idea of going out on a date, is to go to mcdonalds and then go bowling. Obviously I wont divorce him because of it, but I have begun just doing what I want. I go out once a week with the girls, I buy myself jewelry when I see some at a good price, and I buy myself a new outfit each payday to increase my wardrobe. Such is life. I married a dud. lol

My husband is generous and VERY giving. He spoils me rotten and treats me like a queen:) I have to tell him to save money at times and that i do not need everything lol. Not all men are like this hon. There are some good ones out there. Maybe you should take him out on dates and pay once in a while and this may start to change him. My first husband was pretty cheap so I do know how you feel and can relate to it. Treat yourself out and buy yourself something once in a while. I feel his priorities are not with you though and this is very sad. However do not withhold sex from him because two wrongs do not make a right.

Did you know this about him when you married him? If so, then well, you knew better! My husband doesn't get me anything for Valentine's Day either anymore. But not because he is cheap, but because I'm so picky! haha! Next time, tell your husband to hand over $50 and that you are going to go buy yourself a nice Valentine's Day gift with it. If he won't give you the money, then I'd make sure he knew how much his "cheapness" bothered you and that it is hurting your marriage.

My hubby isn't cheap now but when we first got engaged he put his ex girlfriend's ring on my finger. I found out about it and took a hammer to the ring and handed it back to him. Needless to say he learned his lesson. Never recycle old girlfriend's jewelry just to save a few bucks!

a few days or a week before it's your birthday [or whatever the holiday] take him shopping and say to him this is what i want for my b-day--or Christmas, etc. BE AS DIRECT AS HE WOULD ABOUT WHAT HE WANTS, LIKE SEX, THINGS ETC. don't be coy about it.
do not stand for any stall tactics--i am sick of hearing about cheap men, until then buy him nothing. it is his job to show his love for you, none of us expects a new car--but flowers are always nice--there is no excuse for his selfishness.

Let me tell you something, you'll end up dumping that loser and you'll be glad for it! Get rid of the tight wad now. He's a bum and will never change. I'm glad I did and then I found a real partner who shares as I do!

How superficial women are. They gush like little schoolgirls when some jerkoff guy throws them a little affection by buying them roses or candy for $20. So ladies, how about a man's other qualities? Honesty? Trustworthiness? How about the fact that he might save his hard earned money so that the two of you might one day retire? Or is it just "show me the money, huney"?

possibly treat him to something nice and make it so he wants to return the favor, if he doesn't then just talk to him about it, he is your husband
