Connect your computer to your router using an ethernet cable. Install your router's software on to your computer. Start your router's setup program (i.e. look for it on your start menu > all programs > linksys). The default user id and password for Linksys router are, for user id leave blank and for password enter "admin" (without the quotation marks), If it fails to get you in to the setup program, instead of leaving user id blank, enter "admin" (without the quotation mark). Look under security > encryption. Select 128 bit WEP encryption. If you want the router to generate a key, type in any phrase in the blank space and click [generate]. It should give you 3 or more suggestions. They will look like a long string of numbers and letters.

What you want is Linksys Tech Support. They are open 24/7. Just call them and they will walk you through it. If you don't know their phone number (should be in the instructions) then go on line to www.linksys.com and find it under product support.

WEP is very easily cracked, use WPA instead.
