I have had to drive from Jersey to Missouri and Pennsylvania to Texas...I know what time cramped in a car like a sardine is like! Some of my best past times were as follows:
-watching DVDs (portable player)
-reading
-chatting on the mobile
-music (mp3, cds, etc)
-drawing (not good on bumpy roads but good for the interstate and such)
-School work (boring but productive)
-SLEEP (time passes so much faster when you are unconscious!)
-talk with the others in the car
-knit
- write letters, stories, or poems
-play hangman, tic-tac-toe, or other ames with fellow passengers
-play "eye spy" with kinders in the car
-make faces at the guys across the way
-pedicure/manicure (if you are alone in the back w/windows open)
-eat.
-scrapbook
-take pictures of things you pass
Good Luck!

I just came back from a 16 hour long car ride to South Carolina, try these tactics that help me:
* Think of everywhere you are glad you aren't
* Journal in a book (thoughts, poetry, goals, stories)
* Get some good tunes!
* Sleep
*Chat on your cell phone
* Just enjoy the ride! You are on vacation! Whoo hoo!!

Take a good book you have always wanted to read or a lot of magazines to read. Its amazing how fast time will go.
Got a portable DVD player, take that along and watch movies.
Actually, with 4 girls in the car talking, that will be entertainment in itself.

Well, you could take small breaks every hour and you'll enjoy your trip much more. Another choice is to bring along a gameboy or PSP if you have one.

Audio books are good if you're driving.
If you're not, you can read, play game boy, balance your check book, make phone calls...
All of you could just chat, or play silly car games.
Take a short break every two hours or so to stretch your legs.

Play Sudoku. I went on a six hour trip; and played the game on and off the whole time that we were on the road. We were there in no time!

Bring lots of cds to listen to or buy a dvd player that everyone can watch. You could do something worthwhile like listen to a book on cd, too.

You can bring your music, and take turns which music to listen. Learn new jokes so you can make your friends laugh.
