To do that with your period, you need monophasic birth control pills, and yes you do need a prescription for that. See your gynecologist or a Planned Parenthood.

Yes you need a prescription for birth control. If you would like to go longer periodes of time without having a periode the best option is taking the Depo- Provera shot, its an injection you receive once every 3 mths, its very ffective contraception and while you're taking it you wont have a periode.....but do not choose this methode of contraception if you wish to get pregnant within the next 12 mths, it can take a woman up to 12 mths to get pregnant after taking there last shot........if you want to know more let me know, I have taken this before

yes you do need a prescription go to a doctor and say you want to be put on birthcontrol, explain to him or her that you would like to have fewer periods, some birthcontrols can lower it to only 4 periods (1 every three months) a year

Well then, your best bet would be gettin' a shot of Depo Provera every 3 months. I got my first shot last month and I've already haven't had a period for this month. It all depends on the way your body functions, though. But I'd deffinatley recommend Depo Provera injections.
