I have a guy in my science class that is really smart, funny (I guess), and really talkative. He is kind of a geek (he takes architecture class, I think). I don't like him or anything, but I can't tell whether to see him as just a class mate or a friend. Anyone out there that can help? Greatly appreciated!

A classmate will just talk to you in class, work on assignments with you and perhaps when you bump into them out of class, they'll say hi. However, a friend is someone you feel comfortable hanging out with, talking to, and doing things with outside of the classroom. Basically, someone you don't mind spending some time with and keeping in cotact with. It's up to you really how you see and feel about this person.

Why not be friends with him if he's smart and funny? There is nothing to lose by being nice. You may find out he's a good friend to have.

See him as a classmate and as a friend. Sometimes girls need male friends as well. Even girls gets tired of hanging around girls all the time. Plus guys offer unique perspective on things you wont get from your girls
