Bring multiple copies of your resume printed on a nice stationary. Use a white paper, with black ink. Bring them with you in a nice leather (or similar) note book. Something that will keep them wrinkle free. Also print up a "business card" with your name and phone number on it, a small profile... type of job you are looking for. You might meet someone that you wouldn't give a resume to but could give them the card. IF you take a cell phone keep it on silent, only using it if you must. Wear comfortable clothing, shoes, low heeled shoes, no short skirts or skin tight pants, etc. If you wear makeup take a small case with you so you can duck into a restroom and freshen up. DON'T wear a heavy perfume, cologne or deodorants. I have interviewed people for jobs and find that if they aren't comfortable it shows. Take a few mints with you, that way you can pop one into your mouth just before talking to someone. Don't chew gum, don't carry drinks around (don't want "sweaty" hands), eat something light before you go, no onions or garlic and certainly nothing that will make you feel uncomfortable.

Hope this helps, good luck on your job search.

You might want to get a job application from anywhere and fill it out to take with you. Many job applications are pretty standard and you can have it to refer to when filling one out. That way, you aren't sitting there trying to figure out from what month to year to what month to year you worked all of your positions or your references phone numbers, etc.

At some job fairs all they collect is resumes, but sometimes you do have the occasional one or two that ask you to fill out the application.

Good luck in your career search.

Lots of pens, a list of references, and I used to teach my students to bring small index cards with their pertinent info and a sketch of their resumes on the back. It's a seemingly novel idea, but the reason that it works is that they have to clip it to the top of the stack when they put all the papers together, so you're the first one they look at when they get back to their offices.

Carry an air of geniune confidence & expectation that you are the best candidate for the position that you want, and recognize that you have just as much power, and the right to choose the right company to lend your services to for the time that you wish to do so. In other words, you're seeking the right match just as much as they are. Your attitude about & your vision of your job search is more important to your eventual success than any material thing you can possibly carry.
