today at soccer practice, i got hit in the eye with a soccer ball. it wasnt super hard but it still hurt. now, i have this spot under my eye (its kinda like when u look into a light for a while and it leaves a blind spot after you look away) thats really bugging me. it isnt really there when im in well-lit areas but when i am in places that aren't so well lit, the spot makes the bottom half of my eye nearly blind. if anyone knows anything about this. PLEASE help me.

I'm no doctor but I had the same thing happen playing volleyball I caught a spike in the eye and lost vision in my eye it was in the corner. It came back after about 6 hrs and was all better in a day or so. I was told by my dr to go to the hospital if it didn't improve in several hours.
Good luck!

Of course you need to see an ophthalmologist. It sounds like you got hit hard enough to cause retinal edema. This is a swelling in the seeing layer of the eye. It is caused by a spasm of blood vessels in response to the sudden pressure trauma caused by the soccer ball.
You need to be checked for hyphema, iritis, and possible retinal tears.

If this problem hasn't resolved by tomorrow morning I would recommend seeing an eye doctor as soon as possible. A detached retina or other injury to your eye can have serious consequences. Your eye sight is a very precious thing take good care of it.

jesus christ.. it pisses me off how people will put stupid answers up like: "get hit with the same ball and it will go away" or something.. this place isnt about points.. its about helping others.

but to answer your question: give it about 24 hours and if its still there then get checked out by a doctor. sounds like you might have retinal problems..

I would get it checked out by the doctor/optician.
However, I wouldn't think that this would stay.
It should discipate after about 24 hours.
