You'd probably die of radiation poisening in hours. Not to mention getting pelted by meteors and having our air getting sucked into space.

That would be utterly devastating to life on earth. The ozone shields us from UV rays and reflects some infrared radiation from the sun back into space. Without it, plants would likely die. Animals, because they depend on plants for food, would soon follow.

There is little chance that humans would survive. Ozone can be made artificially, although I'm not sure that the ozone layer could be replenished this way.

The problem is that halogens, and nitrogen oxide (and other compounds as well) act as a catalyst for turning oxygen-3 (ozone) back into oxygen-2 - the stuff we breathe.

Already, ozone depletion is known to have decreased crops and increased cancer. DNA is very sensitive to UV radiation.

I think that the human race as a whole ought to address this serious issue, and stop denying that it is happening when satellite photos have confirmed that there is a hole in Antarctica.

If the ozone layer opens completely earth could be next Venus in terms of temperature..we will be the 2nd or 3rd hottest planet

we may not die, people. Some years back someone created a cylinder shaped "house" using materials that could protect us from radiation should the ozone opens up. It is shown in the national geography I think.

Alot of life would die and there would be an uprise in skin cancer,world wide crop failer,Alot of bad things will happen if we continue to use fossil fuels.

We would all have to wear protective suits. It would probably quickly destroy most plant and animal life .
