It was a truck. Dodge Ram I think.
If you are referring to the yellow truck that was sucked up by the tornado then that was a Jeep J10 series, sometimes called the "Honcho". These were the trucks based on the Cherokee.
I can't exactly recall which truck Jonas Miller was driving actually but these two are the one that come up in this movie that I vaguely remember.
