like 4 laps in the pool so that is a 100, so yeah I know that is pretty bad!

If you start swimming year round you will be amazed at how fast you can drop time. It also depends on your age. When I entered high school I saw a 100 in about the same time as you (1:06) but dropped to a 58.6 by senior year.
The main point is that 1:06 is a pretty competitive time. You know how to do the stroke, obviously, and just need to work on technique and endurance. Be proud, butterfly is a really hard stroke to do at all!

You've been on a swim team for 10 years and only swam in the summer? I take it this is some sort of a City recreation type team? I am only asking because with year round where i am from you are not allowed to only swim just in the summers unless there is a really good reason of course...not to pry..( okay i am prying)....
at any rate.... after swimming for 10 years i do not know what age you started at.
I mean no one here is able to assess this without an age. If you are 17 this is a great time! If you are 30 this is a phenomenal time! Get what i am saying?
However with all this being said...yes, it's a good time dear. It won't win you any Gold medals but then you didn't ask that.
This answer won't win me any awards but at least i'm honest.

If you had swam only in the summer for 10 years then I'd say a 1:07 isn't that bad but it could definitely be improved.
As you mentioned, you've been swimming only in the summer for the past 10 years. I'd say you really have to get more consistant with you swimming if you really want to get better. Taking a season off from swimming won't hurt you that badly but taking off 3 straight can't be a good thing. I'd say swim when you can and swim more often as well.

Butterfly is my favorite too. are you a guy or a girl and about what age you are also depends if a 1:07 is a good time. It is a very good time to go a 1:07 having only swam in the summer before this and once you start buidling more muscles you should be able to go even faster. ever since i started building muscle i have been able to go a lot faster in the fly because if takes a lot of srength i went from a 1:13 to a 1:01 in a year just because i started working harder i got my time down.

if its in meters, then yeah.,
if its in yards, then no.
i mean, yeah its pretty good, but i know people that can go it under a minute.
i personally am not a butterflyer for my shoulders are built so that the arm movement will dislocate my shoulders. =[
