I am italian but i still think that brazil is truly the superior team,italy has a very solid defense but their offense is slow despite the names that they have in it,but i think this is because italy has always been a defense oriented team,but the first time it was not a fluke (for ur consideration italy has won the world cup three times) and the last time they won it before 2006 in 1982 they dominated the tournamet do your history.

first off, people who take the Fifa ranking seriously don't know anything about soccer. Everyone knows that the fifa rankings are flawed...
secondly, i think Italy is no where near the best team in the world and the reason why they won the world cup was because they cheated their way to it...
If you asked me the top 5 teams in the world, i would rank them like this
1) Brazil
2) Germany
3) Argentina
4) England
5) Italy

i think there one of the best in the world. not the best the best is brazil second best is italy no matter what the fifa ranking says. but for italy to prove it wasent a fluke they have to win the euro cup.

I'm certainly not a fan of Italy, but they won the world cup, and you have to respect that. Until somebody defeats them in the next world cup, they are the reigning champions, and, yes, that makes them the best in the world.
Add on note: Brazil did nothing in the world cup to show they are "best in the world." Nothing. What Brazil did years ago can't be used to argue they are the best team today.

not only are they the world champions, but they dethroned Brazil and are #1 in FIFA world rankings. Brazil showed nothing of what they can do during this past world cup, and Italy took it home.
