as long as it doesn't bother his stomach, he should be fine. I have switched a couple times for different reasons and my daughter is perfectly fine. I don't think you are technically supposed to, but as long as your son can handle it, I don't see why not.

I thought the same thing, isn't soy all the same? It's not. If your baby is on soy because he can't handle milk based then he probably has a sensitive stomach just like my daughter. I tried to swtich a couple of months backfrom Nestle to Bright Beginnings thinking that she was older now she can probably tolerate another soy brand. Boy was I wrong. I did a slow introduction of the new formula and my daughter started to get major gas again after not having digestive issues for almost three months. You couldn't pay me to switch formulas at this point.
If you chose soy becasue you thought it was a healthier option then it is a different story. I know some babies can drink any formula and not have any problems tolerating it. This is not my child! I wouldn't switch unless you are going to be consistent. Nestle soy can be hard to find, I know. I noticed stores around here are starting to carry some form of it now. The other thing is that the enfamil always seems to be on sale. If you sign up at Nestle you can get $8-11 dollars off the first few months and then a few dollars off every month after. Plus Target has Nestle for almost five dollars cheaper than the grocery stores (you can't buy it online). Good luck.

It would probably be ok. Good Start is supposed to be a little easier on their digestive system, but it's probably not a big difference. You can try it and just switch him back if it causes any problem. My daughter is on Isomil (the Similac soy). I would love to be able to put her on Good Start soy because I know it would be easier on her tummy, but Nestle doesn't make the Good Start soy without DHA and she's allergic to it.

In most cases, it's fine to change formulas provided you stick with the same type. For instance, the ingredients in all cows' milk-based, iron-fortified infant formulas (recommend for most babies) are essentially the same. The taste may vary slightly and your baby may balk when you switch, but you won't harm her by changing brands.
Likewise, if your baby is on a pediatrician-recommended soy-based, iron-fortified formula, switching to a different brand of soy-based, iron-fortified formula won't harm her. But if your baby is on a special type of formula, such as a hydrolysate formula, or you're considering switching formula types, check with your pediatrician first.
You may be worried that switching formulas will upset your baby's stomach, but that's unlikely. All babies have gas — a lot of gas — so gas alone doesn't mean your baby is unable to tolerate whatever kind of formula you're giving her. Nor is it a sign of trouble if your baby's bowel habits change in other ways, such as frequency or color. If her stool suddenly becomes very firm, she may be constipated, in which case you should tell your pediatrician (Don't assume the constipation is due to iron-fortified formula and switch to a low-iron formula. Studies show that iron doesn't cause constipation or any other digestive upsets.) If there's blood in your baby's stool or she's vomiting and there's blood in the vomit, call your baby's doctor as soon as possible. These are signs of a true formula intolerance.

Some babies are fine if you switch formula, others may have issues, either cramps or they might not like it as much, you can mix 1 with the other for a short time to ween the baby if you would like. We have switched our daughters a few times and she doesn't know the difference.

No it should be fine. I went back and forth with my son a couple of times and he was also on soy and it didn't effect him. If your son gets diarrhea or wont drink it go back to the original formula.

Nestle good start is not soy. It would be better to find another soy formula to use. If you change formula types like that, your baby can get gassy cramps and colic.

My daughter replaced into an identical way, soy formulation replaced into the only element she could desire to maintain down. After her 1st birthday we switched to soy milk, and round her 2nd birthday we tried properly-known milk and he or she stored it down, and has been eating it ever provided that. some food hypersensitive reactions disappear simply by fact the youngster gets older.

sometimes switching can make them constipated or bother their tummy....sometimes it doesnt. If it does have some juice ready to give them to help have a bowel movement.

should be fine, but could cause his poops to change, so just watch to make sure he doesn't get constipated. (It really just depends on how his body reacts)
