i just had like a drop of bright red blood ..its strait blood no mucus with it ..could this be the start of labor??

You need to call your Dr. to see what he wants you to do. I never did lose my mucus plug before I went into the hospital, but I did lose some blood. Most likely your Dr. will want to check you out or have you checked at the hospital.

Are you positive it came from your vagina? For it to be just a drop of bright red blood sounds like a hemorrhoid. Not all hemorrhoids are painful or visible on the outside. If you experience more blood you need to get to the hospital immediately. From my what my OB/GYN had told me, bright red blood is not a sign of labor, it's a sign that something is wrong. A drop though is not something to worry about. Being that you are 40 weeks and 3 days (the exact length I was when I had my son 3 weeks ago) you will be going into labor soon, whether on your own or through induction. I was induced, so I can't tell you anything that is going to prepare you for real labor, but a drop of bright red blood does not necessarily mean something is wrong OR that labor is starting.

I think it could be your mucus plug, most likely your dr. will tell you to put on a pad and if it bleeds more go in and show them (i kno its gross) Because if you go in and your not having contractions that are about 5 mins aparrt they will send you home.

You need to call your doctor a.s.a.p. From my understanding any type of bright red blood can indicate a serious problem. With your mucous plug it should a pinkish color not bright red blood. Please call your doctor or nurse on call. Take care.

yes I would say that it is.when I was Pregnant with my Daughter I woke up in the morning and went to the bathroom and I was bleeding,I was in labour and 8hrs later she was her.I say call the Dr and tell him and see what he or she has to say but I would say Get ready.Good Luck

yes it could! are you having contractions and if you are if their live five minutes apart better get to the hospital! God Bless and Good luck on an easy delivery!
