Destruction, hmm...Compared to what traditional family?
During WW2, many women had to go to work, for both financial reasons and to fill the work force gap. We then became reliant on a 2-income household. That led to no one parent being home to monitor children and, ultimately, to the use of electronic devices to entertain children while parents struggle to juggle many responsibilities. I believe if a parent can monitor TV. it is OK.

What do you see as the traditional family, the families of Leave it to Beaver, Ozzie and Harriet. Face it, those were TV families and certainly not traditional. there is no such thing as the traditional family, each family is unique. Tv is not responsible for anything in life, it is merely entertainment. If people chose to take it for more than that, it is the fault of the people not TV it self. It has changed us in that we have become a group of people attached to living the lives of other people and looking forward weekly to their antics. Maybe we do need to find out own way through life and watch less TV, the art of conversation is dying.

Nope! Higher prices and maintaining a standard of living are the real culprits. Housing alone has forced many couples to rely on two incomes. Cars, high insurance rates make it nearly impossible for "Mom" to stay home these days. So, you're left with unsupervised children, dad working an off-shift and no one sitting down to a family dinner.

no. tv is just the mind controlling device of the government and corporations. The destruction of the traditional family is due mainly to the sex, drugs, rocknroll hippie, yippie, later yuppie attitudes of the first tv generation, you know, the boomers. you know, the same whale saving, treehugging, free love, free condom, free mandela, free HBO, bleeding heart, anti-war, peewee hermans that are now our Elected Officials and Corporate CEO's. only thing is their values changed when greed took over. oh yea, our own selfishness and vanities probably did'nt help.

No. The high taxes levied by a wasteful government causes women to enter the work force. This forces children into day-care. The results are self-evident.

TV is an inanimate object. It cannot cause anything to happen at all. It is the choices people make that leads to what happens.
