These are the 3 main definitions of normal..

1. conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.
2. serving to establish a standard.
3. Psychology. a. approximately average in any psychological trait, as intelligence, personality, or emotional adjustment.
b. free from any mental disorder; sane.

Am I normal? I don't think so, I mean, I'm sane, but I'm just ordinary, not Extra Ordinary. I fit description #3, but do not adhere to description #1 or #2.

I think its important to be your own individual, and as long as your not hurting anybody else in the process, its fun being different and being into different things than what ever the standard for society is. So, No, i'm not normal!

If I was normal, I wouldn't know anything about cars. If I was normal I wouldn't have been an electrician. If I was normal my IQ would be a bit lower. If I was normal I wouldn't read the books I do or listen to the music I do, or be able to wriggle my ears and nose, or have double-jointed fingers............... If I was normal I wouldn't do half the stuff I do.

And I bet everybody can say that about a lot of things about themselves! Everybody deviates off normal a lot of the time, it's what makes us all unique. If we were all normal, the world would be very boring!

There is a generally accepted (if somewhat flexible) range of human behavior that is considered normal at least for the time period in which one lives. People who act in ways outside that range are not considered normal.

This is a common mental health question asked by people whom are ill or disabled.

It is because of other people putting problems on the so called 'abnormal'.

There is such a thing as abnormal since these are things have a tendancy to remain odd and not flow with normal

The question should be "What is wrong with things that are abnormal?"

Perhaps the best people who have managed to influence people should prove that abnormal is often OK.

I don't think "normal" exists. I do think "average" exists, but mostly as a simple mathematical sort of standard.

As for me - I think I'm average, but I know that a lot of people disagree with my asessment. It all depends on what aspect of life you're talking about, really. Everybody is "average" at some things, below average in others, and above average in still others.

Interesting...I guess being normal means acting and thinking within the norm described by psychologists. We were educated that way and it is also the reference used by modern day psycologists and doctors.

unless you mean are your tests normal such as those given in a hospital or by a psychologist then normal means that the other person the one you have chossen to judge is pleasing to you .
that means the person most often is similar to you . that is unless you have a very low opion of yourself. if you have an average opion of yourself you think your ok then if the other person seems like you he is normal. another example is this
the other person seems very different from you he is an imigrant speaks your language strangely. he does so just well enough that you can understand him and he is saying something that is neutral such as how the weather. he may be attempting to discuss the weather but his broken english say is so poor you laugh. you will more then likely find him to be normal. even if that person wore a turbin or a robe.if he made you laugh and no angry thoughts came to you you would say he is normal. another example here is if you see a person that you think could be your twin. he looks so similar but this person is seen failing at anything you yourself find difficult and feel any shame at your lack of ability for not being able to do well at you are likely to say he is not normal he is a failure or retarded or some other similar thought. that is because he hit you in the mind. he appeared to you as a mirror image of you then he failed you . you will not be pleased so you find anyone that does that not normal.
now you see people who are of a different religion . they eat different foods strange things you would never eat. they wear odd clothes and speak a different langauge. they seem not in the least bit similar to you or your friends. so long as they dont ever even slightly attempt to have authority of any kind over you you will find them normal. now if they were to rally for a change or law a minor law say how fast you can drive you car. you would then most likely find them not normal . even if you thought the law seemed good . because it came from them you will be more likely not to like them . however if the law were one you thought of but no one else had echoed so they mirrored your thoughts then you would be pleased and find them normal. so it really all comes down to the judgement made by you pleasing or not pleasing . normal pleasing . abnormal or evil or bad not pleasing.
normal means pleasurable to your eyes and mind. simple as that. a person who is all deformed looks very odd but is funny a comic and beats you to the punch by making fun of themself first and this makes you laugh you will find that person normal. if that person failed to cause you pleasure to laugh or smile for some reason fast enough then they are not normal. it becomes very hard to change from abnormal to normal a person or people would have to really please you many times or greatly at least once for you to see them as near normal . to make it too normal they have to please all most every one of your sences after the initail judgement . not many people manage to please all of our sences this is because to so do causes a great likely hood of love.
now if you set out to love first and this is your true desire you will find more people normal and even still a greater then average number of people better then normal. its still a judgement. a positive one but still a judgement. its tough since we are told not to judge . not good bad pleasing or not
feared or friendly we do it because we have to it is instint and is still of great use. when we are not pleased with others they are most likely not pleased with us and confrontation happens unfriendly confrontation . this is seen when the number of visible imigrants becomes to large they seem to take authority from us so we dont like them . they then dont like us and we dont get along. all of this can be used to balance imigration rates with the pleasure of the people who are in the majority. this is not wrong this is good as it brings peace and i love peace. that sure seems normal to me.
