Can somebody help me with this question?
Plants likely evolved from green algae millions of years ago, when the first plants moved to land. Life on land presented many challenges to plants, challenges their algal ancestors didn’t have to face. What were some of these challenges?

During several periods, mass extinctions crushed the diversity of life; perhaps within just a few thousands of years. Many groups of plants and animals never recovered.
The most catastrophic event happened at the end of the Permian, 252 million years ago, when about 90% of marine species and about 70% of the land-dwelling species died out.
