before you read this, know that there are some nice UNC fans...
i mean, come on. you people think that UNC is soooooooooo good its like you worship them.
and you think that Duke fans are horrible just because they have an opinion.
and you brag about everything.

I know you aren't going to like this answer, but here goes:
I believe that what you percieve as "arrogance" and "cockyness" is merely class. Which is something that MOST Duke students/players/fans know absolutely nothing about. (like you I am willing to admit that there are a few good Duke fans, just not many.)
And, as for Carolina fans being mean... Excuse me? Obviously you have never seen the Duke "Cheer Sheets" that the school circulates at games have you?
You are rooting for a team whose fans shouted "Orphan! Orphan!" at a Carolina player who had just lost both parents in a murder/suicide!

I'm a Duke fan and you cant deny that most Duke fans are just like UNc fans. Theyre only worse to Dukies this year because Duke is down. The next couple of years UNC will complain when Duke is better. Its a cycle

UNC fans arrogant and cocky? Look at Duke. I'm a terps fan and while Duke's biggest rival is UNC, for us terps our biggest rival is Duke. I just think everyone hates duke. The ref's love them, Dick Vitale loves them and the people who vote for the rankings love them. I mean come one. They went from unranked one week so a 16 seed a week later after two medicore wins...if anyone should be bitter it is the terrapins. They won their last 7 games of the regular season, including a win at Clemson, a win at Cameron against Duke and two wins at home against Duke and UNC and only until then were they given a 20 ranking....As for the ACC tournament, they lost to NC State in the first round in OT. A good game, yes. Even though they lost, I think it will not matter for them. They will still get plenty of votes to get a 6 seed. MD was projected a 4 seed but since they're lost in the first round to Miami(FL), they will probably drop to the hated 5 seed or even 6 seed.
In short, everyone hates Duke just because all the people that "matter" would love to suck them off.

I think they are both a couple of overpriviledged, overhyped programs...Duke and UNC. I am sick of the announcers who love, worship, and suck up to the programs SO much... finding ways to mention them during completely unrelated games. I mean COME ON. Dick Vitale should be elected into the Duke University Hall of Fame. Or at least signed onto the university's payroll as a recruiter/PR agent.
I hope this season is the sign of a decline for Duke in the way that UNC endured one for a few years before winning their last championship. I hope it's a big fat slice of humble pie. Duke is getting by on their stellar (and, I admit, well earned) reputation this year. Duke has been overranked and will probably be grossly overseeded in the NCAA tournament. Why? Cos they're Duke!!!!!

You think Carolina fans are cocky because your a Duke fan. Just like Carolina fans think Duke fans are cocky. Both teams have done well in basketball thru the years and since Duke is having a down year it prolly seems like (to you) that the Carolina fans are worse than ever. I do believe Duke fans were a lil cocky last year since they had JJ and Sheldon. (fyi: I'm a Heels fan.....GO HEELS!!!)

I love the fact that UNC fans are cocky and arrogant. It clashes so well with that pansy baby blue they wear. It makes me laugh. And then they have those cute little baby footprints on their clothes. Oh so cute. Just makes you want to bash their cute little noses in. So go ahead, be cocky, arrogant, it just makes you look more stupid.

I happen to think UNC fans are great!.......but see, I'm a UNC fan.

UNC arrogant? UNC is NOT the school that thinks it's the Harvard of the South and charges $40,000 in tuition and is for privileged white kids.
Plus, Michael Jordan went to UNC - case closed.
