You are probably thinking of cover up.This was about two investigative reporters under cover for a magazine One of the reporters was a guy and the other one was a woman. The guy who was in it shot himself in the head and the show was canceled because of it. Or i think it was called New York Under Cover. I do not know if this is the correct title or the one i mention earlier in the sentence. Its one of the two titles i mention. This was on in the early eighties or earlier on in the 90's
