If he is not paying you the support then you need to talk to YOUR lawyer and have the lawyer set up where payments are taken OUT of his pay rather than him bringing you the money. Also this needs to be reported to the IRS because he owes back support. Sounds like he thought he could get out of paying by going into business himself...however as long as he has income he has to pay. Talk to your lawyer about garnishing his wages.

you can go to court hire a lawyer it will cost some money but in the end if you get the money you are owed then it will be worth it.in my state if there is back child support owed the state (Oklahoma) will pull the driver licenses and with him being a truck driver that would be the end of his business

Go to court and let him be court ordered and if he doesn't pay and him in a business they will take his taxes and go after his wages from the companies that pay him for his services.

It is tougher to get support from him if he is in a new business of his own. You need to take it back to court and have wages or bank accounts attached. Good Luck

well the honor system doesnt work, thats been proven.
seems to me, you need to put some heat on the case.
1) call your caseworker and ask:
--where you apply for interest on the arrears?
--was the case submitted for state & federal tax refund intercept?
--was the arrears reported to the credit reporting agencies yet?
--request a hearing for enforcement, and to address the arrears amount. demand they take his drivers license. some courts will warn him a few times first, then take it, some take it on the spot.
2) IF YOUR CASEWORKER (or dept) isnt on the ball, PULL RANK ON THEM: sit down and write a letter. in it, give your contact info, case number, his info, a huge arrears amount making no progress, and how he is self employed. ask them what they are doing about it. ask them why they have not taken his drivers license. tell them you respectfully request that the state and federal child support laws be applied to your case.
then take that ONE letter and FAX it to the following:
a) your states Attorney General (link is below)
b) your states Governor (link is below)
c) your states Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office (link is below)
FAX to both states if you live in separate states.
phone calls are useless; they are ignored, denied and forgotten. mail ends up on someones "to do" pile, but FAXES are effective. its proof you sent it and proof they recieved it, therefor, they HAVE to address it. if you cant find a fax number (most are listed online) then just call them and ask for it.
if you hear nothing in a week, fax them again. fax them weekly if need be. its the squeaky wheel that gets the oil, if ya know what i mean. who cares if you miff 'em off, just keep at 'em. week after week after week if need be.
3) report his *** to the IRS.
4) post his DEADBEAT FACE ON A DEADBEAT SITE ONLINE.
