Ok, here it goes, I am 45 years old, having symptoms of menopause i guess. I haven't read anything yet, that describes what I am going through. It all started in Dec. Had my period like normal, but lasted 3 weeks. The same the next month. Then last month 4 days but extremely heavy and a lot of clotting. I had blood taken last week, have'nt got results yet. I just haven't felt like myself. I have read about lack of concentration and confusion. I have such a hard time concentrating and doing the things I used to. I have always been a procrastenator, but it's getting ridiculious. My personal life isn't the best either and that adds stress. Not very supportive, He just doesn't know how to deal with things like this. so i've just decided to take care of me. I am hoping the blood test will show what I am lacking, I really don't know a lot about this. I'm anemic also. I need someone knowledable that could give good advise and/or support info and live chat about this..thanks

Has your gynecologist mentioned anything about fibroids? Your symptoms sound similar to those for uterine fibroids...periods lasting extremely long, lots of clotting, heavy and anemia which you could have in addition to entering into menopause.

Fibroids are common in about a fourth of all women particularly between the ages of 30 and 40. They are benign but can be a real pain due to the constant bleeding.

I hope you get your testing back soon so you can know what it going on and find out what course of action your doctor plans to pursue. If you'd like to chat about it, post so in the details and I will unblock my email long enough for you to contact me. Good luck!

The blood test your doctor took will tell you alot. I had same sypmtoms. I was so anemic I couldn't get blood count level up ebfore my next period would start and we would go through the entire cycle again. Hormones levels get out of whack during menopause. I had a hysterectomy and have never felt better. Follow up with your doc as there are things that can be done to help you.
