I've had friends who had gotten pregnant when their tubes were tied and just wanted to know how common it is.

This article says fewer than 1 in 200 women will get pregnant after having their tubes tied:

i'm sure anythings possible, but when I had my tubes tied, the doctor said there were a couple of different ways to go. He mentioned having them tied, then cut and burned. I told him I wanted the actual cutting so the chance of them "reconnecting" would be pretty slim to none. That was in "93 and I haven't had any problems or scares... So what would be the actual odds? Not sure, but I guess nothing is 100% fullproof.

I know my mom has, but it wasn't in the uterus. I believe it's called an ectopic pregnancy, when the egg actually begins to grow within the fallopian tube. I read on a website that only 1.85% of women get pregnant with their tubes tied...so it's not very common. Have a look at the site if you like.

Very slim, but it happens just as well with a man having a vasectomy, strange but very true. Either Dr. doesn't do it right
or patient doesn't respond
