they're talking about annette funacello( spelling) she was a big star in the time frame they were going for. She was never in the movie.

It's probably Annette Funicello; I don't remember there being a character in the movie named Annette.

Annette is Annette Funicello she was in many "beach movies" with Frankie Avalon she was considered a sex symbol of her day but also was a well respected women thus the line in the song "would you pull that crap with annette?'
the song also mentions sandra dee and doris day as well as elvis, and troy donahue all stars of the fifties when grease is set
