Greece, Athens large for a pair of days sightseeing. The Islands are appealing. The Greeks, are the friendliest human beings I even have ever had the excitement to fulfill. the sea has the main dazzling blue/vegetables you will ever see. The villages have the beautiful little church homes and the villagers are so sort. The inns, some quiet and relaxing, some very energetic. anyplace you pick to go you're growing to be to be a large trip which you will undergo in concepts for a lengthy time and little question you would be unhappy leaving and could def prefer to return. The friendliness applies to all of Greece and the food is gorgeous. in case you're going and you may ,have a dazzling trip

Going to Greece for many years now.
It is a beautiful country, the islands so many of them ,have the friendliest of people you could ever meet, they absolutely love children, nothing is too much to ask of them,i could write all day about this wonderful friendly nation.
As for being expensive i tend to find the larger islands are a bit more costly than the smaller ones, but hey the rest of the world is not cheap either ,i live in Ireland and it is one of the most expensive countries in the world to live.
Greece has its beautiful blue/green sea we have rain and more rain and pay heavily for it.
Oh to live in such a beautiful country would be my dream come true.

Of course it depends on your own budget and on the resort you choose.
In my opinion, it is expensive, especially if you travel on your own. A drink in a club costs around 10 euros and in a bar 6-8 euros. And a mediocre double room in a pension on any cycladic island costs in July 80 euros. Of course, packages i.e all inclusive, are good bargains if you like this kind of holiday.

I have not been to Greece but I know of people who go there regularly, mainly because it is one of the cheapest places to go if you want something exotic. Is this true?

It is such a beautiful place. If you don't do it now you may never go. Travel while you are young and able.
Many European nations belonging to the Union have had their prices go up when they switched to the Eurodollar as their currency. Still try to go!

My husband and I might immigrate to over there we still have to work it out if it will be south Spain or one of the Greek islands.

Frankly it is getting quite pricey and too crowded in August. Still, if you can bargain and go before the season gets going, you can get by reasonably. I would avoid August.
