Does anyone know any good WWII books? I am typically into the memoirs, which are not just direct events from WWII, but are told in fictional form.

Persipho's list is excellent. I'd add "The 25th Hour" (translated). I think the author was named Georghiev. It's magnificent, though harrowing, dealing largely, as I remember, with civilian experiences in the Slavonic areas. As it doesn't feature Americans or the English it didn't capture rave reviews or sales promotion. It's a novel obviously based on real experiences.
