I used to ignore what my heart desired, I always did what was best but look at all the things that came out of it = It doesn't matter about others anymore, not anymore

Yes, at my age now (very old), it does matter. I have gone through a lot (some heavenly, some hell-ish) and in most instances what my heart desired played second fiddle to what my mind dictated. I suppose that's the trade-off if we were to survive this rat race we called life. I have paid my dues.

So now feel I owe it to myself to let my heart rule my being, my mind, my all. I have nothing to lose anymore...and I'm a happier person for it!

It does....if we do not have desires, what will make us passionate about life? If we can never fulfill those desires, we will still have the passion.....or at least, that is true for me...

Only if it is a healthy desire. If it is destructive to you or your health, I say no, it does not matter.

Yes. You should go with your strongest instinct, and if that is your heart, go with it.

it's the only thing that matters, but it doesn't always mean you can get it.
