Get the "turtle care sheet" from the San Diego Zoo on the web. Also if you are using sink water that is chlorinated it's not good to change that often. Add water treatment and do get a filter! Unless you mean you have a little plastic bowl with the plastic palm tree setup, then get a bottle of spring water and use that for water changes until you get a larger tank. Good luck! Also baby Red Ears like protein like fish or bugs, worms ask at the pet store. Feed several times a day until they get about 6mo. old then feed every 3 days till they are full. Sounds like you have a nice arrangement for them and they will be well cared for.

Water turtles kept in tanks indoors need a water heater. Set it about 79 degrees F. A UVB light like a Reptisun 5 is a must if you plan on not letting them outside during warm months. Although, keep in mind that NO artificial lighting is an equal substitute for direct unfiltered sunlight. UVB is necessary for vit D production which is needed for proper calcium absorption.
Baby RES are mostly carnivores (meat eaters) but they will also eat plants and that is good for them. Hornwort and anacaris are good and you can buy those at the pet store.
Some day your cute little babies will get 8-12 inches long so be thinking about that.

1. You DO need a LOT of water. Baby Red-ears should have about 10 gallons of water to live in. The rule we use is about 10 gallons of water per inch of shell length. So, you already need a bigger tank.
(FYI- turtle 'bowls' are TERRIBLE for turtles! We call them 'death bowls'.)
2. Filtration- aim for a filter about 3 times bigger than a fish tank needs. Save time and money by planning ahead for your turtle's future needs- say 3-4" long. Here is a good site for this: http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Articles/filtration.htm
3. A basking 'rock' won't help in a real turtle habitat, so you'll need a good log, rock pile, dock, ramp, etc.
4. For a really good care info, try http://www.austinstutlepage.com or http://www.redearslider.com

yep, I genuinely have an african area neck with my slider bacause he will go after my western and midland painted turtle. Be carfeul nevertheless, ensure you dont have 2 male or 2 lady sliders, it particularly is extraordinarily undesirable on occasion. yet on the different hand I genuinely have a smaller lady slider who's with my different african area neck, my western painted and midland painted turtle. the bigger one tried to take her head genuine off. i individually may be careful including yet another turtle with 2 RES whether it may no longer modern-day a concern.
