I would like to save pictures of different beaches and such from online, and post to my new website. Am I allowed to do this? Do I have to look for a copywrite symbol on it? If there is no symbol then nobody has rights to it and I can use it?

It depends on where you copied the pictures from. If you got them from another website, it's a good idea to ask them for permission to use their pictures. You will always see a "Copywrite" notice on most websites, normally located at the bottom. They don't necessarily have to have a copywrite message in the picture itself. On the other hand, if you're not using their pictures to make money, I'm sure it might be ok.

As long as it is not for commercial use then I am sure it is fine. People do it all the time, so I wouldn't worry.

I don't see any reason why you can't as long as they are you own and not anyone elses.

you can use it as long as there is not a copyright and all you do is save it to your computer.
