Ok some of these people i agree with, what people call rock now is not what rock is/was. Now rock had a wide spectrum of tone and feeling. Rock is now about the technicality of the players and the look of each band member not about the simplicity of catchy riff or the feeling in the music from the hart. Too much of our so called rock is now manufactured,hard to get into, serious and difficult to enjoy.
Rock should be made for the people and the musician. rock stands for havin' a rockin time, havin fun and most of ll enjoying your self, not to stand on stage looking 'cool' and showing off your 'widdleing' skills.

Mudvayne, Godsmack still rocks, Hurt, Bullet for my Valentine, and Rage Against The Machine is coming back. I hate all that alternative sh*t.

You just aren't listening to the right bands. Try Between The Buried And Me, Slayer, Graveworm, Devil Driver, If Hope Dies, and of course, TOOL. And those are just a few.

yeah it seems the crap they call rock they play on the radio is kinda nice, its not all nice. get out and support your local bands, I guarentee some of them will rock your sack, support them so they can be the ones on the radio and not the ones who have mommy and daddy pay their way to the top(not all of them I am sure, no need for some evil messeges from 13 yr olds tonight)

I'm a bit of a 70's weirdy beardy type into Hawkwind, Gong etc but I'm also into more heavy stuff like Sepultura and stuff like that!

I'm sorry but those bands you named are not rock...they are whinny crap that now days passes for rock .
Rock bands are Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots, Filter, Alice in Chains, Disturbed ,Korn...you know bands that have hard riffs and pounding drums. Not this sh!t that passes for rock these days...I don't know what those bands are but they are not rock...maybe adult alternative but not rock !!!!.
