1989 accord fi. at start up idles at 2200 and takes a while to idle down. what can i do about this.?

when i try to kick it down the idle fluctuates between 1500 and 2000 until its warmed up then i dont have any problems.

go to your mechanic and have them check the throttle position sensor and the idle air control motor

Have a mechanic clean the throttle bore (intake). If the vehicle continues to idle fast, the Idle Air Control Motor may need to be replaced.
