It was rubbish, for every point of view: in terms of my moral, social, academic and sports education.

I believe I was clinically depressed in my last three years of Comprehensive School.

There being no element of pastoral care whatsoever, I reiceived no assistance at the time.

I was appalled by the sheeer nastiness of the place: the ugliness of everything, the utter stupuidity of the lessons, the contempt shown pupils...

What a vile expierence it all was: violent, and stupifying!

I recall with pain the bullying of a mentally deficient boy there, John J.: In one instance a group of boys stole his dinner plate and replaced it with another which had on it a plastic turd. John J. vomitted copiously believeing it to be a real turd.

It was typical of the nastiness and violence that underscored my experience there.

The lessons were all geared towards the "lowest common denominator" too. I learnt nothing, except to despise.

Which portion of school? Elementary? I enjoyed elementary, Jr. High was cool too, but I didn't like high school. I am now enjoying college. I just enjoy the freedom being in college gives me. The only part I don't like is having both day and night classes, that justs makes it difficult to find work. But I enjoy doing a lot of things that I did in high school, but not being looked down upon for doing them. I also like all the discounts some of my favorite places give, like art galleries, theaters...etc. College has just opened up a lot of great opportunities for me and I try to take advantage of them. By the way I am 21 years of age.

I didn't enjoy it at the time but now I wish I was young enough again to be back in school. I'd pay more attention this time and take school more seriously.

I'm also 42 years old.

Thought it was ok at the time, hated it sometimes and loved it other times. Now when I look back I realise how simple life was and how school days really are the best days of your life! I'm 27, though I feel about 87!
