One of the contributors/co-authors of this book stated on Larry King that the 9 year old from Florida, Jessica Lundsford, brought on herown rape and murder!!! Sick!!! I would not accept that book now if they gave it to me for free and those I know who have bought it are returning their copies and demanding their money back in protest...

this is just a fad that many of us did not buy into...
this creepy ppl repackaged old teachings from different religions and pretended like they had something new to sell...
and they have the cult of oprah blindly following along...

however is this a surprise to anyone - isn't this the basis of "the secret"...you get what you create ...I mean if you buy into that bs aren't you therefore saying the jews wanted the holocaust, blacks wanted slavery and children want to be raped?

The author didn't say that -- but it is the logical extension of this philosophy to blame the victim Poor people are poor through their own fault, victims of illness are at fault for not desiring health. Its horrible (and against Christian values, and those of most religious systems of thought.)

That larry king thing never happened. You are the victim of an e-mail hoax perpetrated by Christian fundamentalists who oppose the book for other reasons. It's all a lie.

It is based on mystical, metaphysical moose dung, so I would not have bought it in the first place. That statement on Larry King does take the cake for crass, though.

I've never even bought a copy. Don't even know where it's being sold. :0)

So I'm not worried.

I do not agree that she brought it upon herself--but personally I loved that book and it has changed the way I think about life. It's one I can read again and again..

It's about positive thinking - your own positive thinking. You don't have to believe in any religion to be a positive thinker.
