I agree with you 100%! People do give kids whatever they want anymore. My sister gives her kids anything they ask for and now they don't ask her they tell her to get stuff for them now! I don't think kids need cell phones till they can afford the bill... who are they gonna call that they can't call from home phones anyway? My 6 year old wanted a phone because his nephews both have one (they are 11 and 9) and I told him when he had a job at 15 or 16 then he could get one lol!

You are so right on how these kids think that handing them a cell phone at such a young age is the best thing. It sucks when parents do this especailly when the kid or kids have nothing to do except be on the phone with their friends. Don't they have activities to do? And No You aren't Wrong!!! If the parents want to do this retared thing then all I have to say is give them something they earn!!! Not A Cell phone!!

No you are not wrong . Kids have to learn to work for things they want instead of getting everything on a silver platter . Keep in mind though , its not all the kids fault . Your talking whats with the Grownups , it starts there too . If they cant tell them no now , what will it be like later ?
They have to be taught responsibility ,because at one point in there life , not everyone caters to you , a hard lesson to learn if you think you can always get what you want .You will appreciate more , when you have to pay for it yourself . They may not see that now , but down the road they will .

No you are not wrong. Most parents don`t actually parent their own kids, they have them plugged into a zillion activities, take them to hundreds of sleep overs, let them idle at the mall for hours, hang out at pre-teen and teen centers etc etc etc...to keep a fast paced lifestyle like that going they have to ensure they have everything...cell phones, clothes, money in their pockets, etc etc etc...the worst part about this is they actually think they are doing a good thing...these are the same parents who let their 11yos date and put them on birth control...just in case....
