i was in town and noticed a little girl with a pram and a dolly in it and although innocent could this type of role for young girls subconciously help, not cause, the rate of teenage pregnancies ? im not saying they shouldnt be allowed, just interested in what people have to say . . .

I don't know if thats the case but even before they seem to be playing with the baby doll they are playing with other dolls. I was at a childrens christmas party and the present santa gave my three year old niece was a bratz doll. This consisted of a doll with a mini skirt boob tube and knee high boots! I think children are being sexualised at an age where they are too young to even understand the difference between male and female!

Nonsense.
When I was young (a very long time ago) girls played with dolls and prams and stuff much more than they do now.
Most girls were playing with dolls and "making house" right up till they were 11 or 12. And the (unwanted) teenage pregnancy rate was much lower than it is now.
Nowadays 12 year olds are watching rap on MTV and reading sexually explicit material in magazines.
I think the dolls and prams were by far the better option.

I have mixed feelings. Some of those baby dolls are annoying with the crying and stuff it can make a little girl not want to rush into motherhood. On the other hand, if she's looking for love it and she's good at taking care of the baby doll it could cause her to want a baby.

No.Toys, kids play, do not add the rate of teenage pregnancy . Children follow the elders and their parent and try to copy them exactly. If they see others nourishing their other kids they try to fulfill their desire by playing with the toys. However sex is a natural urge and they get pregnant due to their ignorance and not due to effect of toys played by them.

I am a child of the 70's, and yes i am a girl, and no i am not a lesbian, and i played with guns, and tanks and swords....hasn't made me a gun/sword toting mad women so there goes your theory.
Poor education and no aspirations i think you will find is the answer

It depends on the toy.
Some dolls kind of have sexual appeal.
