If you've dropped it or sat it under anything heavy the screen maybe broken from the inside, i had an ipod that did the same thing. If you're sure you haven't then the psp is defective and you should return if possible. If not, then you need to go to the official site and e-mail the support team and they'll take it from there. DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF, IT WILL MAKE YOUR WARRENTY INVALID AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO HAVE IT FIXED!!!

You have a bricked PSP.

You can only unbrick your PSP by installing a mod chip. No, it's not easy and it's not free.

Since you already bricked your PSP, I don't think you have the skill to install the mod chip. It involves opening up your PSP and do some soldering.

If you it is brand new, you may able to return it to the store you bought it.

You have bricked your psp, but you can always sell it on eBay, got 80 off of my brick. Also, try to access the recovery mode by holding the right trigger down. didn't work for me but you never know.
