I'm 38 weeks pregnant and started bleeding 2 nights ago. I woke up with cramps and went to the bathroom to discover blood. It wasn't a lot, maybe 2 tbl spoons and redish brown. I saw my doc a few hours later and she says it's fine. Now i have a small amount of light brown discharge coming out every few hours. What does this mean?
p.s. i'm dialated to 2 cm and was told i won't make it to my due date, march 25th.

i don't think it's my mucus plug because there was no mucus. Just blood and discharge.

It can be your mucus plug. I just bled a little too with my first pregnancy when I was around 38 weeks . The mucus plug is different for everyone and not even everyone will notice it at all. With my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I never saw a mucus plug or any blood. Im sure you will be ok. Its just the beginnings of labor. If you dont like your doctors answer to it, then go up to the hospital and tell them that you ahve been bleeding

im also 38 weeks pregnant and im also 2cm dialated and guess what my due date is the 24 but i havent shown any bleeding or any brownish mucus and i dont have any contarctions. do u? i have some really heavy green kind mucus though and i also have the cramps. my mom told me that the week before u actually enter into labor stage is like the week before u get ur period or the week during it, with the cramps, the moodswings, some cravings, so i guess we should just wait lol. good luck.!!! ps: are u craving chocolate or something sweet?

You should be having a baby within the next 24-48 hours. What you've had sounds like bloody show and contractions generally start within 24-48 hours after that. Good Luck & Congratulations in advance!
Mucous is often confused with discharge. Trust me, you will be having your baby soon. Probably this weekend!

It's your bloody show (the mucus that plugs your cervix when you are pregnant). It comes out before you deliver your baby. I would keep in close contact with your OB. Good luck to you and congrats on your baby!

it sounds like the baby wants to come into the world now,
so go to the hospital , and get check out,,just to safe than sorry.

you just lost the plug. get ready the fun part comes now. keep walking and taking hot showers. have sex. what ever it takes 2 cm you might as well get it over with

I know someone who went through that, you are probably ok but call you're dr and just inform her. Keep her updated on whats going on. Orrrr you can always get a second opinion.

You could be in the early stages of Labour and your membranes have ruptured. Possibilly goto your hospital and get examined. Good luck!
