why has donna only had a sister in like 2 shows?

Her name was Tina. She was younger than Donna, and she just disappeared. lol.

They had her in some early episodes then she just disappeared with no explanation. The sister was younger than her because Donna stayed home to babysit her in one episode.
Kind of like Happy Days. There was an older brother to Richie and Joannie that was only in the first couple of episodes in the first season, then he disappeared with no notice.

if her sister was younger and went away for college, why did she go while donna was in highschool? i guess they only write their family members in as they use them.
