I frequently have sever menstrual cramps to the point where I vomit and black out for a few seconds. The pain is like a torture. Hot water doesn't even help. Tylenol, Midol, etc. never help me during these severe episodes. Maybe doctor's prescribe somekind of painkillers for this?? I'm desperate and I don't need another "go take a midol" or drink "___ tea" suggestion. I'm just really hoping if someone who has similar symptoms like me found something that helped them. Thanks in advance.

Awww, I feel for you =(

Whenever I got really bad cramps, I mean, they were unbearable...I couldn't even walk. So my mom took me to the gynecologist and he put me on birth control to ease the pain. I'm telling you, it works. I hardly EVER have cramps anymore and have been on birth control for over 4 years now.

Birth control also helps regulate your period so you don't bleed as much, and sometimes it can even help clear up your face.

If you don't want to be on BC, ask your doctor if there is anything else you can take besides that.

Hope you feel better =(

I had the same thing. Nothing would work. I had some pretty strong prescription pain killers, and even that didn't help. Talk to the doctor about birth control. I finally got on it after years of suffering. It has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I only get minor cramps ever 2 or 3 months. It also helps with the moodiness of having a period. Good luck!

I think you should go to the doctor, a good doctor won't tell you to take Midol/Tylenol when vomiting and blacking out.
Try vitamin pills, avocados and bananas and exercise.
They probably won't help you now, but just before your next one, a few days before have some avocados and try going for a walk, run or do sit ups, I found it decreases my pain.
But of course everyone is different.
I strongly suggest you go to the doctor though, it doesn't sound too right.

Oh no! I feel so bad for you Vicki!

I would really suggest getting on birth control. I never had really bad cramps or anything, thankfully, but birth control made my cramps and other symptoms disappear. There are so many different kinds of birth control pills that the doctor should really be able to give you one that can clear up these awful symptoms.

Go to your doctor right away so you can start taking pills and avoid any more pain!!!

Feel better...

I used to get the same kind. I would throw up all day and feel like passing out and get hot flashes. My mom gave me some of her prescription meds for cramps. Naproxen or something. It helps. But now that I've started taking birth control pills I only get "normal" cramps. And no more throwing up!

The only thing that really worked for me was getting on the pill. I'm off of it now (after 10 years of pain free periods) and I do have cramps still, but they are nothing like what they used to be.

You need to be treated by a gynecologist. I had a baby and it helped me for years (not the only reason) but I don't recommend that for everyone and certainly not just to treat your problem. You might be prescribed birth control pills to balance hormones. See a gynecologist.

Have you considered changing your diet. Avoid things like salt, sugar, caffeine, or greasy foods. Also try to be more active. Helps me tons. I still take a motrin or two but the cramps aren't as debilitating.
