It really depends on what your needs are. I was raised in Seattle and still live here. I love it.

Seattle is more than just Starbucks, Microsoft, big sports stadiums, false realities portrayed on Grey's Anatomy, and general awesomeness.

The people in Seattle are generally very friendly and accepting, although, if you do or say something that doesn't fly with us, people will let you know. Aside from that, and the fact that the cost of living here tends to drive more people away than it brings people in, and our municipal government has no idea what it wants to do, it's a pretty great place to live and raise a family.

Seattle has a ton of things to do. Whatever you're into, you can find a place that caters to what you're into. We have Elliot Bay and the Puget Sound to the west, mountains to the east. Amazing architecture...it all makes for a beautiful city.

And contrary to what people say, it does not rain here ALL the time. From mid-October thru mid to late March, we do get our share of rain. But really, it just keeps everything green and lively. Because from April thru September, it is difficult to find a city so breathtaking.

I think that you and your kids would love it in Seattle. If you can, try to visit prior to moving here. Get the lay of the land, talk to some people about living in the "big city". Because as good as this place is, it isn't for everyone.

I was stationed in Texas yeas back and i could not wait to get back to the NW. There is nothing like it. It smells fresh and clean unlike Texas and it's just plain beautiful here. Lots to do and see. Ocean, forrests, climbing fishing alot of outdoor activities.

VISIT FIRST MAKING THAT BIG A MOVE IS HARD. THE WEATHER IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COOLER HERE MORE RAIN. FAR MORE EXPENSIVE. I PREFER SEATTLE AND I AM FROM TEXAS.
