We don't live anywhere near my husbands family, so they would probably only see eachother twice a year. My hubby's in the military so we will never live nearby. They will be at least 6 years apart.
Madyson is almost always called Maddy. And I would probably call Addison by her given name, maybe Addy when she's a baby.
Also, there are two other cousins- Haley and Maylee....to add to the confusion!!!

Who cares! My cousin & I had the SAME name and our family could always sort it out.
I married into a family that had a sister, a sister-in-law, a cousin, an aunt, and a grandmother, all with the same name. We could always figure out who was who.
Unfortunately, the family was short on imagination.

I see no reason not to name your daughter Addison. They may be close, but they are not the same. I same name your child what you want. Both Addison and Madyson are cute names.

Name your child what you want. It doesn't really matter that your husbands neice has a similar sounding name. The names are very different. It would be kinda cute to introduce the cousins as Maddy and Addie. Hope this helps.

That's my new fav name! One of the doctors on Grey's Anatomy is Addison. I don't think it matters, it's whatever you like. Madison is very very common, I know like 5 or 6 of them under 4. Addison, however isn't common, in fact I had never heard of it until about a year ago.

I love Addison too. Is your neice called Madyson most of the time or is it shorten to Mady? How often are they around eachother? Maybe discuss it with your inlaws beforehand to make sure there is no ill feelings afterwards.

Name her what you want. I think Addison is cute. I have a cousin who named her daughter Savannah and we named our daughter Samantha their names sound alike we only see them once a year and another cousin of mine her name is Candice and we named our daughter Kadence with a K so no one would get confused on the spelling and their names sound alike. We didn't care what anyone said because it was our kids. Good Luck.

Its fine even if you were to name her Madyson. give her a total different middle name like Addison -
Taylor/Tayla
Yasmine
kaitlyn
or any name that you want is fine and beautiful

I would check with the parents of Madyson to see if they are cool with it. I know from experience that names can cause friction in a family but ultimalely, you should have the right to name your baby whatever you want regardless.
good luck
