Are there any good RPG games available for the PS2? I don't have the PS3 yet, but I like playing games on the PS2 more. Which RPG games do you recommend for renting or buying?

+Dragon Quest VIII-is a great game and RPG. It has an old school feel to it and is difficult at times and is very long.
+Dark Cloud2-a great RPG with lots to offer, the battle system is in real time and at times its a dungeon crawler, but is long and has lots of depth.
+Final Fantasy X-another great addition in the Final Fantasy series.
+Kingdom Hearts I and II-my two favorite RPG games, they're two of the best you can get for the PS2, I highly recommend them to anyone.

I like the kingdom hearts series, and then there's final fantasy. Because playstation was smart you can still use PS1 games on the PS2 so you can start as far back as you want. FF X is really good, but most count 7 as the highlight of the series. FF X-2 is a little campy, but great fun.

Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2
and a few more games to wait for...
Secret of Mana 4
Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3
these games are all pretty good too, and are outside the usual mainstream RPG's.
Some not that hard, but also very good are...
Shadow Hearts 1 and 2, (3 sucks.)
well, just start with the SMT's. they're really good.

Some others not mentioned are Champions of Norrath 1 & 2, they're more like Baldur's Gate games.

FF 12, Kingdom hearts two. Also PS3 is not backwards compatable id get a 360.

final fantasy series i think there are 12, this is a clean game if you are looking for gore this is not your game however it is challenging and captivating
