I suffer from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and marvel at shose with Bipolar Disorder (BD) because they can be some of the most successful! Famously successful personalities include Sir Winston Churchill and a bunch of others I can recall at the moment but there are more than a few!

In business, persons with BD-II are enormously successful. I believe any "workaholic" entrepreneur must be at least manic if not BD-II. I live at Ottawa, Canada and we have two here. One is Robert Campeau, a real estate developer. After conquering the home real estate market here, he then conquered the commerical. Then he jumped ot Toronto where the real money is made and conquered much of that market. At one point his net worth was 1.8 billion!! He then got into financial/legal trouble but that's not what you want to hear. From what I understand, Campeau never knew the meaning of "can't do it!" The other is Michael Cowpland. He founded two hugely successul high tech companies: MITEL and Corel. I have friends who have worked for him. Very personable, likeable guy. Also a SLAVEDRIVER!! Corel was well known as a "high tech sweatshop" But did all the employees ever make a lot fo money on their stock options in the mid-90s!! We joked it helped pay for their divorces. Anyhow, Cowpland leads by example. One friend of mine worked in marketing and went on business trips with him. He's out the door of his hotel room by 6AM. It's work all the time, even in between in the rental car and over meals. GO! GO! GO! He calls it a night at 12AM (that's early too!) And the enxt day it starts all over again. As my friend put it, "He leaves you in the dust!" The guys just never stops! He too got into financial/legal trouble but you said you don't want to hear that.

If you have mania or BD-II (dominate mania), you can achieve things most mortals would give up on much earlier!

Best,
-- Liam

You know...I never thought about what I could or could not do but I tried things that would suit my personality and mostly looked for places I fit into.

I became a bill collector and I work for a collection agency. I fit in just fine and its ok to get mad, thats what I get paid for.

I guess, whatever floats your boat. You can do almost anything. Being Bipolar isnt exactly a handicap.

Bi polars are no different than non bipolar people. they will excel at what interests them. I would suggest inquiring at the nearest community college about an aptitude test. That should lead you in the right direction.
