Doubtful that it's a dangerous clot, considering the daily aspirin you take. Your body did exactly what it's supposed to do when faced with an injury like this. The immune system sends extra blood to the area to try and "fix" what happened, so you are noticing the swelling from that extra blood. When you hit your hand, it probably caused a small vein to tear and the increased blood flow to the area immerses the area in platlets (they cause clotting) to stop the internal bleeding. That kind of clotting is necessary and perfectly fine (in fact you'd be in a world of trouble if you didn't clot). The reason you are taking aspirin as a blood thinner is to be certain that clots don't randomly form in the blood and then break off into the bloodstream and lodge in the heart causing a blockage. This kind of clot is perfectly fine and all a part of the healing process. The swelling will go down and you'll be left with a nasty bruise for a little while. A bruise is simply blood that's been left behind in the area, no longer part of the circulating blood, and other cells are sent in to "eat" the old blood cells up after they've done their job. That's why a bruise changes colors as it heals, the old cells are being cleaned up and gotten rid of. Isn't the body amazing!?!
So put your mind at ease, you're just fine!
Good luck!

You probably busted that vein. It may be painful, and also may make an ugly looking bruise that may be there for a while. The swelling should go down in a matter of days as it's abosorbed back into the body.
