Arrogance is ugly. It suggests that you are of the opinion that you are somehow "better" than others. On the other hand, CONFIDENCE is a wonderful alternative. It implies that you are secure and sure of yourself without having the need to feel superior. That, my friend, is powerful (and very attractive)!

Well, there is a difference between arrogance and confidance. Arrogance is more like you feel that your way is the only right way, and no one can change that, so therefore you beleive that in a way you are better than most people. Confidance is simply knowing who you are and being proud of who you are. A confidant person can be this way , and also be respectful toward others, and their ideas. An arrogant person will find this more difficult to do, and probably won't be very well liked, because they are usually seen as stubborn and disrespectful toward others ideas and feelings.

Arrogance is the root of all evil because; You can't truly learn with an open mind. You won't be compassionate to others. Empathy is impossible. You'll be wasting a lot of time trying to convince people of the glories you hold, but cannot keep. There's no will/need for personal growth. You'll treat others as sub-yous. Oh and people might nod and smile at you for a time but eventually they will shun you.

arrogance by definition is thinking you're better than everyone else. which is downright annoying to be around people when they're like that...plus if everyone in the world were to become arrogant & think they were better than everyone else...we would basically have a world full of snobs. seriously think for a second about how baddd that would be!

I don't think so. Self-esteem is a great thing. You can be confident and humble at the same time.
When you have self-esteem you don't need to act arrogant. Arrongant people imply that they have low-self esteem, because they feel they have to convince people of their worthiness, that they don't believe themselves.
Arrogant people act so because they want to feel like they are better than others.
Arrogant people are not pleasant to be around.

It is a great quality because I'm the best in the whole world and I know everything. I'm beautiful and always right and everybody should love me no matter what I do.

I sure do dislike arrogant people. They're so full of themselves!

I do like self assured people. They know what their strengths are, and proceed with confidence.

It is harmful to be excessively arrogant because it can distort your perception of the boundaries of your strengths and weaknesses.
