US dollar contains .77 troy ounce silver. If someone is willing to give you the silver value that's roughly 10 dollars (.77 x 13). However a bank or other establishment will only give one dollar in trade. It is rare to get silver price because the coin would have to be smelted to recover the 90 % silver content, if you are offered $5 that would be fair.
